Company announces recall of the "Travel'N Baby" hair dryers

About 18,000 Travel'N Baby Mini Hair Dryers, imported by Detour Corp., doing business as Version-X, and distributed by Metropolis Beauty Inc., are being recalled because the hair dryers are not equipped with electric shock protection devices.

If the hair dryer falls into water during use and doesn't have the device, it can pose as a shock or electrocution hazard to consumers. No injuries have been reported.

The plastic hair dryers come in red, blue or green with "Travel'N Baby" printed on one side. Their handles fold up. The product was sold online at www.metropolisbeauty.com and at beauty supply stores and beauty salons nationwide from January 2004 through January 2005.
